Malaika Arora Attends Manish Malhotra's Diwali Bash as Bollywood's Biggest Stars Light Up Bandra

Bollywood's festive season reached its glittering peak on Thursday evening as fashion designer Manish Malhotra hosted his annual Diwali party at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, drawing some of the biggest names in the film industry for a night of fashion, photographs and celebration.

Among the most talked-about arrivals was Malaika Arora, who attended the party in a pink and white shimmery lehenga, with her rumoured boyfriend, businessman Harsh Mehta, spotted joining her as she made her way into the venue, and her former boyfriend Arjun Kapoor also among the guests.

Every year, Malhotra's Diwali bash turns into something of an unofficial runway, with Bollywood's biggest names swapping their usual red-carpet appearances for a night in the designer's creations. This year was no different. From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan making an elegant entrance in a festive look to Kareena Kapoor Khan taking over the internet in a sparkling saree, the party lived up to its reputation as one of the most star-studded evenings on the Bollywood calendar.

Malaika Arora added shimmer to the evening in a pink and white sequinned lehenga paired with a white blouse. She completed the look with a statement diamond necklace and rings. Pictures from the party showed her posing for solo photographs for the paparazzi before joining some of her Bollywood friends for group pictures.

In videos from the evening, her rumoured boyfriend, businessman Harsh Mehta, was seen skipping the red carpet and joining her as she made her way into the venue. Her former boyfriend Arjun Kapoor was also among the guests at the party, and was photographed in an all-black outfit. Malaika was also seen posing with her sister Amrita Arora and with Shibani Akhtar, adding to the family flavour of the evening.

The most photographed couple of the night, however, was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Aishwarya made an elegant appearance in a red saree with a golden zari border and a heavily sequined pallu, completing the traditional look with red lipstick and a statement necklace. She arrived holding her husband Abhishek's hand, and the couple stopped to pose for the paparazzi before heading inside.

The appearance drew particular attention because it offered fans a rare chance to see the couple together at a public celebration after a long time.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were also among the celebrity couples who attended the celebrations. Kareena wore a gold sequin saree paired with a backless matching blouse, a look that recalled her iconic Poo character from the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and she was accompanied by her husband Saif Ali Khan and her sister Karisma Kapoor. Kajol arrived with her daughter Nysa, with the two choosing contrasting black and white outfits for the occasion.

Karisma Kapoor opted for a black and white combination of her own, pairing a blazer with a fitted skirt.

The guest list read like a roll call of the film industry. Akshay Kumar attended with his wife Twinkle Khanna and their son Aarav, whose rare appearance at a public event was one of the highlights of the evening. Madhuri Dixit arrived with her husband, Dr Sriram Nene, while Karan Johar made a stylish appearance and happily posed for the photographers.

Janhvi Kapoor and her sister Khushi Kapoor wore lehengas, while Vicky Kaushal, Tamannaah Bhatia, Bhumi Pednekar, Shilpa Shetty with her sister Shamita, Kriti Sanon, and newlyweds Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben were among the other stars photographed at the party.

Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Raveena Tandon, Sonali Bendre, Shanaya Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Ananya Panday and a host of younger stars were also in attendance, underlining the party's status as a gathering that spans generations of the industry.

Malhotra has been hosting Diwali parties for years, and they are rightly regarded as one of the most sought-after bashes in Bollywood. The designer's home in Bandra becomes, for one evening, the centre of the industry's social calendar, with guests arriving in his creations and the photographs from the night dominating social media for days afterwards.

The party is as much a fashion showcase as a celebration, and this year's edition followed the pattern, with each arrival offering a new look for the cameras.

The Diwali season in Bollywood extends well beyond a single evening. Following Malhotra's star-studded party, producer Ektaa Kapoor is expected to host a Diwali celebration on November 7. Known for her work across television and films, she is likely to welcome several actors and industry friends to the gathering, although details about the venue and the guest list are yet to be announced.

The sequence of parties has become a fixture of the festive season, with each host trying to outdo the last in glamour and star power.

For the stars themselves, the parties are a chance to step out of character and into the spotlight as themselves, dressed in the season's finest and photographed alongside friends, family and colleagues. For the public, the photographs and videos that emerge from the evening offer a glimpse into a world that is usually kept at a distance.

This year's party delivered on both counts, with the images of Aishwarya and Abhishek walking hand in hand, Kareena's sparkling saree, and Malaika's sequinned lehenga already circulating widely on social media.

The evening also reflected the wider mood of Diwali in Mumbai, a city where the festival is marked by lamps in windows, sweets exchanged between neighbours, and gatherings that bring families and friends together. In the film industry, that spirit takes a particular form: designers open their homes, stars arrive in their finest festive wear, and the celebrations stretch late into the night.

The photographs that emerge are shared and discussed for days, and the outfits worn at the party often set trends for the season. Malhotra's party has long been at the centre of that tradition, and this year's edition, with its mix of glamour and warmth, showed why it remains one of the most anticipated nights of the year.

As the festival of lights continues, the celebrations in Mumbai's film industry show no sign of slowing down. The Diwali parties have become as much a part of the season as the lamps and the fireworks, and Malhotra's bash, with its mix of established stars and new faces, its fashion and its family moments, has once again set the standard for the evenings to come.
